The work is practical, important—and unfinished.

When I first ran in 2023, I spoke about better communication, greater transparency, more meaningful member involvement and a stronger focus on working conditions, labour relations and collective bargaining. Those priorities have guided my work throughout the 2024–2026 mandate.

I have consistently voted to keep CAPE national focused on workplace issues. I have supported every transparency motion brought before me and introduced several transparency proposals myself. I ensured Workforce Adjustment became a standing item on the NEC agenda. I pushed CAPE to resist a blanket Return-to-Office approach. And I have kept communicating with members by sharing agendas and minutes and asking for feedback.

There is more to do. Members should have clearer access to union information, better visibility into financial decisions, and a reasonable opportunity to vote on major decisions without mandatory meeting attendance being a prerequisite. CAPE should continue directing its limited time, staff capacity and member resources toward the workplace rights and interests members rely on it to protect.

For me, another term is not about personal ambition. It is an opportunity to continue a consistent program of work: focused on members, focused on workplace issues, and open about how the union makes decisions.
